Screen Cheat Tournament - SEE Weekly Gaming Session 27/4/18
Posted by NanoHologuise on Tuesday, 24 April 2018 at 3:55 PM
Are you the sort of person who cheats on open book tests? Do you like counting cards? Have you ever looked at a trash can and thought ‘Why aren’t I in there too’? Well if you have answered yes to all 3 questions... CONGRATULATIONS! You are a dirty, rotten cheat.
Hello SEE-ples, introducing ‘Screencheat’ as this week’s tournament, an FPS where everyone is invisible. This is the game where cheaters prosper and good sportsmanship is an absolute no no. If you are immoral, capricious or a downright twat, come on down and test your mettle against other like menaces. If this wasn't enough to entice you, should I mention that there will be Favourites for the winner?! And if being horrible isn’t your thing (perfectly understandable), we will have our usual setups in addition to anything you’d like to bring (especially handhelds!).

We hope to SEE you there!

SUPERHOT - SEE Weekly Gaming Session 20/4/2018

🔥 FIRE FIRE FIRE 🔥
TIME TO GET FLARED UP SEE-PLES, THIS WEEK’S SHOWCASE IS SUPERHOT... no I actually meant the game is going to be ‘Superhot’, not that the game isn’t superhot, it is a hit one-of-a-kind Indie game about firewalls or something of the sort. Come on down to Alan Gilbert with guns blazing and smouldering intensities that’ll burn down a house. And if that doesn’t take your fancy, we have the usual hot fire set-ups and like always, 3ds’ and laptops are welcome. Also, bring a firehose too, just in case if things get too hot here.

Cooking Mama Tournament - SEE Weekly Gaming Session 13/4/18
Posted by NanoHologuise on Tuesday, 10 April 2018 at 5:13 PM
We hope you had a great mid-semester break, because this week we’re gonna turn the heat on high, then low, then medium, that’s right, Week 6’s tournament will be Cooking Mama on the Wii! :D Before you settle your beef this week, please read this recipe we’ve provided so that you’re familiar with how this cook-off will run:
Step 1: Find a partner. You’ll be working in pairs for this one.
Step 2: Grab a Wiimote (and make sure you’re familiarised with the various ways of dicing, slicing and sautéing ingredients).
Step 3: Complete the step in the recipe.
Step 4: Switch with your partner at the end of the step.
Step 5: Repeat Steps 2-4 until you finish the dish.
Step 6: Get judged by Mama.
Step 7 (Optional): In the case that 2+ pairs both get the same highest score, then the audience will be allowed to judge who has the better dish (based on visual appearance or otherwise).
Step 8: If you win, congratulations! You were even better than Mama! Favourites will be given to you shortly as your reward.
Note: We will be judging your dishes harder than Gordon Ramsay, those Favourites won’t be so easy to come by!
If you don’t feel like cooking this week, no worries! All the usual consoles will still be set up, and food and drink (unfortunately not Mama’s cooking ☹) will be provided! Feel free to bring your handhelds (especially switches since we hold mini co-op games/tournaments on those)! 😊

A new challenger approaches… or an old one? There goes the joke, I guess. SEE’s Mid-Semester Smash Bros Tournament is coming up again this Thursday 5th April, located in Old Arts room 204. You’ll be able to play friendlies and practice from 11am onwards, and the tournament will begin at 1pm. We’ll be running double elimination brackets for both Smash 4 and Melee, meaning you have to lose 2 sets to be eliminated. And yes, you can participate in both games.
The prizes for each game are as follows:
1st: $25 EB Games Voucher
2nd: A Smash Bros Amiibo
Sign ups are taken on the day, but for the sake of making the process a lot quicker on the day, we encourage you to sign up beforehand here: http://bit.ly/SEESMASH2018_1
Participation is free for SEE members, and $5 for non-members. We also have a limited number of Gamecube Controllers and Wii U Pro Controllers, so we strongly recommend that you bring your own controller.
Smash 4 ruleset:
We’ll also have all of the usual snacks and beverages, and a station dedicated to friendlies throughout the day so you’ll never be bored between matches.
