You are in a block-ish world, and the apocalypse comes, what do you do? This week you will get to answer that question in Blockpocalypse!! Having been developed right here in Melbourne, SEE has received special closed beta access, and may even get a visit from the developers. So if you are keen for some epic pre-release hype (for a game which itself is pretty awesome) then come check out this week's showcase!

As usual, if you would rather play some more mainstream games, we will have our consoles set up, as well as wifi with Steam (and access if prefer PC gaming.

Also, if youare curious about the world of VR or missed out on the post-SEE outing to That VR Joint and still wanted to check it out, we will be going again this week. Its a super fun place to hang out with friends and all SEE members get a 33% discount (dropping the price from $30/30min to $20/30min). Just don't forget to bring your SEE membership card to get the discount. I honestly can not speak of this place highly enough and would totally reccomend coming along and checking it out!!

In an unknown land far, far away some genius asked: "What happens if we cross Pokemon and Street Fighter?". This fateful question brought us Pokken Tournament!! To celebrate this, this week we will be having a Pokken Tournament... Tournament (??). In all seriousness, this game is epic and you should come along to test your skills against other SEE-farers. Signups close at 3:15pm and entry is free.

As usual, if Pokken isn't your thing, we will have the consoles (XBox One, PS3, XBox 360, Wii U, Wii) as well as Steam access if that is more your speed.

Hello SEE!!

This week we will be playing a game with many game modes with one thing in common:
You can NOT stay still, or you will die.

That's right, this week we are playing "Move or Die", a fast moving brightly coloured game where your lightning quick reflexes and ability to charge and avoid other players is paramount. As usual, we will also have our consoles available for use, as well as steam access if you prefer PC (errr.. laptop) gaming.

After this weeks meeting, we will be heading down to That VR Joint, a VR arcade and one of our sponsors. All SEE members get 33% off HTC Vive usage, so feel free to come along, and don't forget to bring your membership card.

Date: 9 Sep. 2016

Time: 2pm-5pm (not including VR trip)

Weekly Meeting 6

Come one, come all! It's olympics time!

Enjoyed the Rio Olympics? Looking forward to the Paralympics? But can't take this despair-inducing gap between the two any longer? Don't worry, SEE's got your back! Test your might against other SEE members in Long Jump, 300m and Equestrian (read: Unicorn Riding) in a ragdoll-flinging frenzy for first place. Will you be the overall winner, and take the gold*? Only you can decide!

As usual, we’ve got all our other consoles available, with a multitude of other games! Can’t find something you want to play? Bring it up with the committee, and we’ll see what we can do. Feel free to bring your own laptops and handheld consoles, too.

~ Your SEE Committee

*not actual gold, actually just chocolate.

Gotta go fast! Because this week SEE is presenting SpeedRunners, the game where you outpace your oponents and sabtage their path to victory. As with all of our showcases, this game will be displayed on the lecture theatre's projector and available to anyone who wants to have a go (don't worry, the game is pretty easy to pick up).

As usual, we will also have all of our consoles there with their own wide selection of games. We will also have our network with on-campus Steam access for those PC gamers out there as well (BYO laptop). Its going to be a great time and we hope to see you there!!
